Metabones Lens Adapter: Canon EF to MFT

The Metabones T Smart Adapter for Canon EF or Canon EF-S Mount Lens to Select Micro Four Thirds-Mount Cameras, available at Lightbulb Rentals, enables mounting Canon EF or EF-S mount lenses onto Micro Four Thirds-mount cameras. This adapter supports electronic communication between the camera and lens, allowing autofocus, image stabilization, and camera-controlled aperture functions if supported by the lens. It also preserves the capability to record EXIF metadata from the lens when used with a compatible camera.
When used with a Micro Four Thirds-mount camera, the adapter facilitates camera-controlled aperture functions, enabling settings such as program, shutter-priority, aperture-priority, and manual modes through the camera. Power for these functions is supplied from the camera to the lens. For manual focusing with compatible electronic lenses on Panasonic cameras, an integrated jog dial allows incremental aperture adjustments by depressing it to open the lens’s aperture diaphragm fully, enhancing shallow depth-of-field capabilities for precise focusing.
To maintain image quality, the adapter includes a matte black internal coating that reduces reflections within the adapter barrel, minimizing potential glare in images. Constructed from durable aluminum alloy to keep weight low, the adapter’s mounting rings are brass to enhance durability. A detachable tripod foot with 3/8″ threads and compatibility with Arca-Swiss tripod heads is included for added stability and versatility.
Note that while the T Smart Adapter supports mounting Canon EF or EF-S mount lenses on any Micro Four Thirds-mount camera, full electronic communication functions currently require a Panasonic-brand Micro Four Thirds-mount camera.
