Quasar Crossfade T12: 4′ Unit

The 4-foot Quasar Science Crossfade T12 is the full-size version of the industry's favorite tunable LED tube, and the length that does the heavy lifting in most tube packages. With a continuous color range from 2000K to 6000K and a slim, self-ballasted T12 form factor, it delivers a four-foot line of professional-quality light that rigs where no conventional fixture can. This unit ships with a pigtail power lead and two mounting boots.

The Crossfade earns its name by blending a 2000K candlelight-warm diode with a 6000K overcast-daylight diode, giving gaffers an unusually deep warm end alongside full daylight, dialed anywhere in between and dimmed without external drivers. At four feet and 50 watts, this is the size for real output: a single tube makes a clean edge or eye light, a pair on a plate becomes an interview key, and a quad array through diffusion is a legitimate soft key for dramatic work. Electricians tape them into ceiling coves, run them up door jambs, lay them along floors for uplight, and build them into vehicles and sets as working practicals that are also the actual movie light. The included boots handle flat-surface mounting, while the T12 format drops straight into MYWAY and Quasar plate systems for arrays and stand mounting.

Tubes take abuse inside sets and cars, which is why many working gaffers buy their own Crossfades and treat them as part of the kit.
