Chimera Quartz Plus M: Reflector

The Medium Quartz Plus at Lightbulb Rentals is tailored for use with large open-face hot lights, supporting up to 6,000 Watts and diameters ranging from 9 to 21.5 inches. While it can be used with a strobe light, this setup may not be cost-effective long-term due to the requirement for adapter rods to attach a strobe ring, which are shorter in this box. The Quartz Plus's depth is optimal for open-face lights, being shallower compared to the Daylight Plus Bank designed for Fresnel Lights. It's ideal for achieving the softest possible light. The "Plus" feature allows the front face to be removable, and Chimera offers various diffusion materials for different applications. This softbox includes a one-stop diffusion cloth, with additional 1/2 and 1/4 grid cloths provided. Substituting these or removing the interior baffle can increase contrast, improve light transmission slightly, and reduce the softening effect. The recessed face enhances directional control of the soft source and allows for the attachment of accessories like a honeycomb grid, soft fabric grid, or louvers for further light manipulation.
