Fluorescent blue gaffer tape in a 1-inch width is the marking tape grips and electricians reach for when something on set absolutely has to be seen. The vivid neon blue cloth stands out against black duvetyne, dark stage floors, and shadowy backstage hallways, and it pops even harder under UV or blacklight. Camera assistants, stage managers, and lighting crews keep a roll on the belt for any job where visibility is the whole point.
The 1-inch width hits the sweet spot between coverage and economy. It is wide enough to flag a low-hanging boom arm, wrap a stinger head for identification, or band a c-stand leg so nobody clips it in the dark, yet narrow enough for tidy color-coding on carts, cases, and channel runs. Because it is true cloth gaffer tape, it tears cleanly by hand in both directions, conforms around knuckles and tubing, and holds firmly on textured surfaces where vinyl tapes let go. Most crews rack a roll on a tape belt or carabiner next to their standard gaff, so the neon is always one reach away when a hazard appears mid-setup.
The adhesive is the familiar synthetic rubber formula that professional gaff is known for. It grips hard during the shoot day, then peels away without leaving a gummy mess on truss, floors, or painted walls, which is exactly what location managers want to see at wrap.
