Impact Black and Silver Convertible 30″ Diffusing Umbrella

This is an Impact 30" white satin umbrella with removable black backing from Lightbulb Rentals. Umbrellas soften, broaden, and diminish the light output of any flash light source. Umbrellas with a white interior soften and weaken light more than those with a silver lining. A white umbrella without a black backing can also serve as a makeshift softbox, although it won't be as efficient as a true softbox.

The size of the umbrella is chosen based on the subject's size and the strength of the light source. Choosing an umbrella surface is as subjective as selecting paint and brushes. This 30" umbrella is perfect for a one-person headshot or a 2x3 ft product setup. The backing can be partially removed, providing a unique combination of light bounced from different surfaces.
