Lighting Rentals
From a single Aputure tube to a truck of HMIs: LED panels and COBs, Astera pixel tubes, SkyPanels, tungsten fresnels, book lights, china balls, and the ballasts and headers that keep them honest. Rented by the day from NYC, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh, color-checked and bench-fired before every order.
That’s the tour! Everything below is SEO vegetables.
Lighting Rentals: What to Ask Before You Book the Truck
Lighting is the department where rental lists balloon, because light is the thing the camera actually records. These are the conversations we have at the counter every week, condensed.
LED, HMI, or tungsten?
LED for speed, control, and small power draws: most interview and corporate work never needs anything else now. HMI when you need raw daylight punch, like filling against sun through windows. Tungsten when you want its skin tones and dimming behavior, or when the gaffer grew up on it and lights faster with what they trust.
Mixed packages are normal. Nobody has to pick a religion.
What lights do I need for a two-person interview?
A soft key per subject, an edge light shared or doubled, and something gentle on the background. In practice: two 600-watt-class COB LEDs through diffusion, a pair of tubes for accents, stands, and grip to shape it. That package fits in a sedan and lights ninety percent of the interviews we see go out the door.
How much power will my lighting package draw?
Add up the watt ratings and divide by 110 for rough amps, then leave headroom. A pair of 600-watt LEDs and some tubes runs happily on one household circuit. HMIs and tungsten above 2K start tripping breakers, which is when you call our electric and distro department for cable, dimmers, or a generator.
What does lighting cost to rent?
Tubes and small panels start around $25 a day. Mid-size COB kits with modifiers run $75 to $200. Big HMIs and SkyPanel packages range from $200 into four figures for multi-head trucks. Modifier and bulb pricing hides in the details, so let us quote the package rather than guessing line by line.
Why we color-check everything
Two lights with the same model number do not automatically match after a few thousand hours, so our prep techs meter LEDs against reference and retire drifting units to the B-stock shelf. Ballasts get bench-fired, because an HMI that strikes in the warehouse but not on your location is the worst phone call in this business. Bulbs ship cushioned with spares on request, and gels and diffusion are downstairs so the package leaves complete. Dig through the full lighting catalog or tell us the setup and we’ll build it backward from the look you want.
