The Schneider 138mm Unmounted True-Pol Linear Polarizer Filter from Lightbulb Rentals is designed to effectively reduce reflections and glare caused by polarized light from non-metallic surfaces. When sunlight reflects off these surfaces, it becomes polarized and scattered, leading to visible haze. The polarizer filters this directional polarization perpendicularly, thereby absorbing much of the scattered light. This results in reduced glare and reflections, while enhancing the saturation of skies and foliage in photography. Unlike circular polarizers, the linear polarizer does not include an additional quarter wave plane. This difference means that it does not circularly polarize the light, which is necessary for certain auto focus and exposure functions in cameras.
