The Sony HVL-F45RM Wireless Radio Flash from Lightbulb Rentals features a built-in 2.4 GHz radio transceiver, allowing for easy setup of portable lighting configurations with full support for P-TTL / ADI metering. It functions both as a commander and a remote within Sony’s radio wireless system, compatible with up to 15 flashes across five groups and offering control over 14 channels. The flash also integrates seamlessly into Sony’s optical wireless flash system.
Improving upon its predecessor, the HVL-F45RM boasts a reduced size and weight, with a guide number of 148′ at ISO 100 and 105mm, and a faster recycle time of 2.5 seconds. It offers versatile bounce capabilities, with tilt from -8 to 150° and 360° rotation. The zoom head ranges from 24-105mm, expandable to 15mm with a diffusion panel, and includes an LED light for video use. Enhanced controls via the rear LCD include customizable buttons, flash distribution, and memory settings, all within a dust- and moisture-resistant construction.
