Dove Gray is a light, airy gray, the gentlest step down from white, and one of the most versatile portrait backgrounds ever made. It delivers clean corporate headshots without white's glare, soft beauty and maternity looks, and neutral product fields that let color-accurate packaging do the talking. Lit hard it approaches white; left to fall off it slides toward a moody mid-gray, so one roll covers a wide tonal range.

It is essentially colorless, so daylight LEDs render it perfectly neutral while tungsten lends a subtle warm elegance; it also takes colored gels beautifully, turning into any pastel you project onto it. Every wardrobe color works against Dove Gray, which is precisely its value on multi-subject days. Light grays do show floor scuffs and shoe marks, so sweep between sessions and cut back to a crisp edge when the traffic area dulls.
