Chimera Quartz Plus S

The small Chimera Small Quartz Plus Softbox from Lightbulb Rentals is intended for use with large open-face hot lights, supporting up to 4000 watts and diameters ranging from 9 to 21.5 inches. While usable with a strobe light, this setup might not be cost-effective long-term due to the need for adapter rods to attach a strobe ring, which are shorter in this box. The Quartz Plus's depth is ideal for open-face lights, being shallower compared to the Daylight Plus Bank designed for Fresnel Lights. It's well-suited for achieving very soft light. The "Plus" feature allows the front face to be removable, and Chimera offers various diffusion materials for different applications. This softbox includes a one-stop diffusion cloth, with additional 1/2 and 1/4 grid cloths provided. Substituting these or removing the interior baffle can increase contrast, improve light transmission slightly, and reduce the softening effect.
