About this rental

The Sony FX6 delivers full-frame cine imaging in a compact body that complements larger cameras like the FX9 or VENICE while excelling on documentary, gimbal, and drone work. Its 10.2MP full-frame Exmor R sensor and BIONZ XR processor produce 15+ stops of dynamic range with a dual base ISO of 800 and 12,800, extendable across 320 to 409,600, and the back-illuminated design keeps images clean as the light drops. S-Cinetone gives Sony's flattering color straight from the camera, with S-Log3 and HLG available for grading and HDR delivery.

The camera records DCI and UHD 4K up to 120p and Full HD up to 240p in 10-bit 4:2:2 XAVC, with 16-bit RAW output over SDI or HDMI, and its 627-point Fast Hybrid autofocus with real-time Eye AF tracks moving subjects reliably. A built-in electronic variable ND, from 1/4 to 1/128, lets an operator ride exposure without changing filters, and dual card slots take CFexpress Type A or UHS-II SD. Compared with the FX9 it captures 4K rather than 6K and carries a single SDI port with timecode rather than genlock, but it adds higher frame rates, up to 120p in 4K and 240p in HD, and the more flexible dual-format media. The camera takes Sony E-mount glass, records four channels of audio through its detachable XLR handle, and is Netflix-approved for original productions.

As rented, the package is ready to shoot on arrival. It pairs the FX6 with its viewfinder, grip control, and top handle, a Tilta gold-mount base kit with a 10-inch dovetail, 15mm rods, and rod clamps, and Metabones adapters for both PL and EF glass so the camera can take cinema or still lenses. Media and power are covered by CFexpress Type A and SD cards with a card case, two Core SWX 98Wh gold-mount batteries and a dual charger, and a 19.5V AC adapter, and the kit adds a wireless-video mounting bracket, an LCD clamp arm, the mic-holder bracket, and a camera case. Configured this way it arrives balanced, powered, and ready for the day's first setup.
