The ARRI ALEXA Mini earned a permanent place on set as a compact, gimbal- and drone-friendly ARRI that produces the same ALEV III Super35 image as the larger ALEXA bodies. Its 14+ stops of dynamic range and ARRI's color science give the forgiving highlight roll-off and natural skin tones the ALEXA line is known for, in a body light enough to fly or rig into tight spaces.
It records ARRIRAW and ProRes, up to 4444 XQ, to CFast 2.0 cards, with 3.4K open-gate capture and frame rates up to 200 fps in ProRes HD and 2K for slow motion. A built-in motorized FSND filter handles exposure, the EI range runs 160 to 3200 around a base of 800, and an adjustable rotary shutter from 5 to 356 degrees controls motion rendering. The camera is mount-flexible, accepting PL, LPL, EF, and B4 glass.
As rented, the package is set up for camera and gimbal work: it includes the Mini body with a PL mount and an optional EF mount, the MVF-1 viewfinder with its cables, a Tilta cage with 15mm support rods, and a wireless antenna, so it can go straight onto a build or a stabilizer.
